We have started Phase D!
The IMAP mission has completed the Key Decision Point-D (KDP-D), which means we have concluded Phase C, and the mission’s Phase D has commenced. Phase C was highly intense for the GLOWS team. At its onset, we underwent a crucial Critical Design Review (CDR) of the instrument and a similar review of the entire mission. As a team, we put in tremendous effort to finalize the design of the flight model and conducted intensive testing of engineering models. Towards the end of Phase C, the mission underwent a System Integration Review, during which the IMAP teams received the green light for the satellite subsystems’ integration.
We are thrilled to have passed the Key Decision Point as a mission, while also working diligently to deliver a fully functional flight instrument for integration with the satellite in the first half of next year.
Additionally, this week, the IMAP mission successfully completed a positive review of Launch and Early Operations (LEOPS). The purpose of the review was to assess activities related to mission launch preparation, the launch itself, and issues related to the transition to the target orbit.
